Ayahuasca Foundation Mishana community Ayahuasca Retreats led by authentic Shipibo curanderos in Iquitos Peru

The Ayahuasca Foundation only works with Shipibo curanderos from one family lineage. Therefore, all of our curanderos work within the same philosophy, ideology, and methodology. This provides consistency throughout all of our retreats, courses, and research, not to mention the love and support they have for each other due to the family connections. It is truly an honor to work with such dedicated healers, teachers. Even with decades of experience, they are still students who continue to study and learn, always striving to discover and develop more effective healing practices.

Not every great healer is a great teacher, but with the Shipibo curanderos who work with us at the Ayahuasca Foundation, we have been blessed to have that rare combination of wisdom, power, and the willingness to share everything openly for the betterment of future generations. True science is not about holding back knowledge or information, for at the core of science is a motivating principle to evolve, to improve, to go deeper, or higher, to expand awareness, understanding, and ability. The Ayahuasca Foundation is blessed with a team of practitioners of the science of spirit plant medicine who fully embody those principles, and for that we are truly thankful.

Doña Angela

Doña Angela is the sister of don Enrique and don Ronor. She leads our ten day retreats, including the veterans retreats in collaboration with Heroic Hearts. She has done extensive plant dietas and has a soft and motherly energy in ceremony and in life. She’s also a tremendously talented artist, making clothing, jewelry, and crafts in her traditional Shipibo style. With decades of experience in the familial lineage of a plant medicine tradition passed down from generation to generation, she continues to develop her own style, especially with the uniqueness of her singing. She is humble and approachable with a warm and gentle energy that puts program participants at ease in her presence. We are blessed to have her leading our retreats at the Riosbo retreat and research center.

Don Enrique

Don Enrique is originally from the RoaBoya community near Pucallpa. He now lives in Iquitos and leads the eight week initiation courses for the Ayahuasca Foundation. Don Enrique comes from a long line of curanderos and began studying with his grandfather at the age of 11. With over 30 years of experience, don Enrique continues to study, diet, and deepen his knowledge and relationships with the plants and plant spirits. He spends most of his time at his plant medicine school, Inkan Kena, which has become like a second home for his family, and where he is constantly planting more medicinal plants, improving the school, and healing and teaching visitors. His passion for teaching and his deep knowledge and connection to the plants is truly remarkable, and it is an honor to know him and work with him.

Don Ronor

Don Ronor is don Enrique’s youngest brother and trained with him for over a decade before leading ceremonies on his own. Like don Enrique, don Ronor was raised in a family of curanderos with a long lineage of Shipibo plant doctors. With an incredible knowledge of the plants, don Ronor continues to do dietas and study the science of healing. He currently leads the longer retreats and Empowerment Courses at the Riosbo Ayahuasca Retreat and Research Center. His gentle, playful spirit allows program participants to feel comfortable in his presence, creating an optimal environment for healing and connecting. His humility and kindness are expressed in his work, and he works hard to provide the best treatment possible. We are so grateful to have him on our team.
